NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Police say a man struck by two cars Tuesday evening in Norfolk has died from his injuries.
According to Karen Parker-Chesson with the Norfolk Police Department, the pedestrian was struck just after 8 p.m. in the 2100 block of Lafayette Boulevard. The first vehicle was traveling eastbound on Lafayette Boulevard when it struck the pedestrian who was crossing the street.
Parker-Chesson said the road was not controlled by a pedestrian walkway or a traffic light.
The force of the crash moved the victim, identified as Willie O. Brown, 60, of Norfolk, into the westbound lanes, where he was struck by a second vehicle. Brown died on scene.
Parker-Chesson said both drivers stayed on scene and it is unknown if charges will be pressed. Alcohol was not a factor.
