NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - A man is dead after a shooting Sunday night in Norfolk.
Karen Parker-Chesson with the Norfolk Police Department said officers got a call about a shooting in the 600 block of West 29th Street around 10:30 p.m. Sunday. Officers arrived at the home and located a man with a gunshot wound.
Parker-Chesson said the man was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in serious condition, and was later pronounced dead. He has been identified as Maurice Lamont Mitchell, 38.
Police said they do not have information about a suspect or a motive at this time.
The investigation is ongoing.
