NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - A Norfolk police recruit complained of dizziness after being knocked down during defensive tactics training, according to Chris Amos with Norfolk Police Department.
Amos says the recruit was never hit in the head.
After the John Kohn incident , a buddy system was instituted, and Amos says the injured recruit's buddy noticed him spitting up water in the bathroom after the training exercise.
The staff later decided the recruit should be checked out by medics. He was taken to Norfolk Sentara in a police car and was diagnosed with a mild concussion, according to Amos. The recruit will not have any contact activity for the next couple of weeks.
A Suffolk man told police an HVAC system weighing about three tons was stolen from his property sometime last week.
