NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Norfolk's innovative approach to address veterans' access to jobs, flooding and civic initiatives helped the Hampton Roads city win a prestigious nationwide award.
Norfolk has been named an All-American City. The National Civic League recognizes ten communities each year for outstanding civic accomplishments and this year, Norfolk made the list.
The award program was created in 1949 and since then has awarded more than 600 communities.
A 10-member delegation from Norfolk traveled to Denver, Colorado Sunday for this year's award ceremony.
