NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Protesters were outside Norfolk City Hall Tuesday evening for a man shot and killed by police in May.
Protesters are calling their cause "Justice for Omar," which is a nickname for Joshua Johnson.
Johnson was shot by police at the Wells Fargo in Ghent. Police say Johnson was trying to cash a bad check in the drive through at the bank, when they say he backed up and hit an officer. Another officer then opened fire, killing Johnson.
Police say their part of the investigation is nearly over. It then goes to a prosecutor to decide whether charges should be filed.
Norfolk Police are investigating the cause of death for male found unconscious on the beach.
KelsKids and Team River Runners Virginia Beach joined forces to help kids with disabilities and wounded veterans. They had a day of fun in the pool at Virgina Wesleyan College.
Newport News Police have arrested a man officers say drove into the wall of a car wash not once, but twice, and they're thanking WAVY for helping.
