NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - The body of a crew member of the USS Boise was recovered Saturday afternoon after a man fell overboard from the submarine at Naval Station Norfolk.
According to a Navy spokesperson, the sailor fell overboard around noon and his body was recovered about two hours later.
The Navy is not releasing the sailor's name until his family can properly be notified.
Details on how the sailor fell from the submarine have not been released. An investigation into the matter is pending, according to a Navy spokesperson.
