NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - The Coast Guard and the Navy have removed buoys from two beaches in Hampton Roads that washed ashore as a storm moved through.
The buoys were removed from the Ocean View and Chick's Beach areas of Norfolk and Virginia Beach Tuesday.
The Navy used equipment from Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek to tow the buoys off the beaches and back into the Chesapeake Bay. A Coast Guard crew then hoisted them onto a boat and determine how damaged they are and how to return them to their positions.
Norfolk Police are investigating the cause of death for male found unconscious on the beach.
Newport News Police have arrested a man officers say drove into the wall of a car wash not once, but twice, and they're thanking WAVY for helping.
A Newport News mother was arrested on a charge of child neglect after her son was found alone Saturday, according to police.
