NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - The inaugural Smithfield Virginia Bacon Festival kicked off Saturday with plenty of pork products. The festival was held at the Scope in Norfolk.
A portion of the proceeds from the bacon-lovers benefited breast cancer awareness.
There was a lot of good food to sample Saturday. Many of the bacon-inspired dishes were made by top chefs in the region.
Several local bands performed live at the event, including The Fighting Jamesons, Pawn Shop Lifters and The Sideshow Saints.
