NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - A race organizer failed to show up in court Wednesday, and now there is a warrant out for her arrest.
The Hash Dash 5K race was canceled this spring, and many of the runners never got refunds. In May, Devon Beezhold told WAVY.com the cancelation was because she didn't have the proper permits.
A few of the runners decided to take Beezhold to court.
Beezhold was supposed to be in Newport News General District Wednesday morning, but she did not show up. The judge ordered a warrant for her arrest.
Beezhold is also facing fraud charges in Portsmouth. She's expected in court for those charges next month.
