NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - An investigation into how a man ended up on a Newport News roadway with injuries to his face continues.
Just before midnight Friday, officers spotted a man lying partially on the sidewalk and the street in the 1600 block of Jefferson Avenue. The man had apparent facial injuries and was breathing but unresponsive.
Harold Eley with the Newport News Police Department said no witnesses could be found.
The man was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He remains in the hospital but is being uncooperative in the investigation, Eley said.
