NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - Crews have reopened a Newport News roadway after a house fire destroyed a home Tuesday morning.
Lou Thurston with the Newport News Police Department spoke on behalf of the City's fire department and said the fire was in the 14800 block of Warwick Boulevard. The building was fully involved in fire when crews arrived on scene.
Battalion Chief Steve Pincus told WAVY.com the call came in just before 7 a.m. as a fire at a motorcycle shop. Firefighters discovered the fire was actually at home behind the shop. The fire was under control about 30 minutes later.
Warwick Boulevard was closed in both directions in the area and reopened around 10 a.m. Further information was not immediately available.
