NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - An email intended for students admitted to Christopher Newport University (CNU) was sent to about 2,000 students in error Wednesday afternoon, according to school officials.
An apology email was sent out about four hours after the erroneous email was sent and we're told the Office of Admissions is working diligently to contact each student who received the erroneous e-mail.
If you've already received your acceptance letter to CNU, have no fear, the decision remains in effect. However, students who haven't received an acceptance letter can expect a decision by March 15.
Officials say the mistake was solely the result of human error and they apologize for any distress and/or inconvenience caused by the email.
If you have questions regarding the status of your application, call (757) 594-7015 or send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org .
