PETERSBURG, Va. (WAVY) - Hundreds turned out to remember two VSU students and Hampton Roads natives who died during a hazing incident last weekend.
Police say Marvell Edmondson and Jauwan Holmes, both 19, were crossing the Appomattox River during early morning hours, and were swept away. Their bodies were recovered this week.
Edmondson, a Churchland High School football standout, dreamed of becoming an electrical engineer. Holmes, a Bruton High School graduate aspired to be a sports manager or coach.
Three men have been arrested in connection with the hazing incident, and one other, Charles Zollicoffer, is still wanted.
The organization the men were trying to join, Men of Honor, is not a university sanctioned organization.
