SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - State Police responded to a vehicle crash on Interstate 664 southbound Monday night where a road worker was hurt.
Virginia State Police Trooper Tignor said an accident happened in a private contracting company's workzone near the Monitor Merrimac Memorial Bridge-Tunnel. A work truck backed into a 48-year-old male worker.
Troopers responded to the scene around 8:50 p.m. and did not charge anyone. Tingor said the worker was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
The company -- HRI Bridge Company of South Carolina -- wasdoing work on the MMMBT at the time of the incident.
