HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) - Shayonna Beatrice Mczeal, 22, of Hampton was arrested on May 31 around 10:33 a.m. for one count of abduction, one count of felonious assault, and one count of use of a knife in commission of a felony, according to Sergeant Jason Price with the Hampton Police Division.
Mczeal's charges were connected to an incident on April 30 when officers responded to the 1st block of Tidemill Road in Hampton for a report of an assault.
According to the police investigation, the incident happened when a verbal altercation between Mczeal and a 29-year-old female victim that she knew escalated. Mczeal pulled out a knife and would not let the victim leave the residence. The situation continued to escalate and the victim received a small cut on the finger.
Mczeal is currently incarcerated.
Camden County Sheriff Tony Perry said that during the last two weeks, incidents of breaking and entering and home or vehicle larceny have increased in two areas of the county.
