HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) - A Hampton man is dead following a shooting on Phelps Circle near Pembroke Ave. in Hampton Friday night.
According to a police spokesman, around 11:21 p.m. 40-year-old John Thomas Brown and John Homer O'Neal IV, 35, got into an argument in the first block of Phelps Circle.
At some point during the altercation O'Neal pulled out a gun and shot Brown, according to police.
Medics arrived on the scene and transported Brown to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Police charged O'Neal, who lives in the first block of Phelps Circle, with murder and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.
