HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) - The Navy Federal Credit Union on Fox Hill Road was robbed Tuesday afternoon.
Corporal Mary Shackelford with Hampton Police said a suspect entered the credit union at 2:17 p.m., displayed a gun and demanded cash. After the man received money, he fled the area on a bicycle.
The Hampton Police Division sent out a tweet to its followers around 2:45 p.m. saying that officers were at the scene in the 200 block of Fox Hill Road.
Shackelford said no one was injured during the robbery.
As a precaution, Syms Middle School, Kecoughtan High School and Booker Elementary School were placed on lockdown until about 3:30 p.m., when the police division announced via Twitter the lockdowns were over.
The suspect is described as a white male, standing about six feet tall. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt over top of a long-sleeve grey shirt and hid his face with a black ski mask.
Investigators are asking anyone with information about the robbery or who might recognize the suspect or his bike pictured above to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
