Hampton fire crews responded to a residential fire near Bethel High School around 7 p.m. Tuesday night.
Jeff Pereira with the Hampton Fire Department said units arrived at the scene in the first block of Brogden Lane to find heavy smoke and flames coming from a large detached garage.
As of 7:15 p.m., firefighters were still trying to control the fire, but Pereira said they were quickly able to manage it.
The garage was near a home and caused some exterior damage to the house. The garage itself was placarded.
Pereira said no one was injured and the homeowners were not displaced by the fire.
