HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) - A Hampton mother told WAVY.com all she wants for Mother's Day this year is for her son's killer to be brought to justice.
Early Sunday morning, 27-year-old Charlie Moses Woodbury was found in the 1400 block of E. Pembroke Avenue suffering gunshot wounds in the upper torso. He later passed away at a local hospital.
"It's like somebody took my best friend from me," Charles' mother Regina Woodbury told 10 On Your Side. "I can't sleep. I can't eat."
Regina Woodbury will now be raising her son's children.
"He was the best dad. He would take us everywhere we wanted to go," one of his children said.
Stepmother Carmen told WAVY.com the family simply needs closure.
"It's going to come to light. You can only hide for so long until somebody finds you," Carmen said.
