HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) - Medics took one person to the hospital for possible smoke inhalation from a house fire off Parksdale Avenue Sunday evening.
Hampton fire crews responded to the fire in the 200 block of Parksdale Avenue at 5:11 p.m. Upon arrival, they found heavy smoke coming from the second floor of the two-story home. Firefighters contained the fire to one room, but a fire department spokesman said flames did spread to the attic.
Crews had the fire under control in about 20 minutes. The person that medics took to the hospital had already got out of the home before crews arrived, according to the spokesman.
