ACCOMACK COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) - The couple accused of terrorizing the Eastern Shore by setting fires repeatedly for months appeared in court for a grand jury hearing Monday.
State Police said Tonya Bundick and Charles Smith III are responsible for the majority of the 77 arsons set in Accomack County between November 2012 and April 2013.
On Monday, a grand jury found a true bill in an indictment of 68 counts -- 67 for arson and one for conspiracy to commit arson -- against Smith, according to Accomack County Commonwealth's Attorney Gary Agar.
Agar said the jury indicted Bundick on two counts -- one of arson and the other of conspiracy to commit arson.
Smith and Bundick will appear in court again after Agar sets mutually agreed upon trial dates with the suspects' attorneys.
