HAMPTON ROADS, Va. (WAVY) - Officials at Dominion power are making sure they're ready for the storm and WAVY.com got a look inside Dominion Power's regional operating center.
WAVY.com was told the center is at the heart of Dominion Power's operation. Crews there keep a close eye on the weather, and if they get any information about any power outages, they dispatch a crew.
The folks at Dominion said they don't think Tropical Storm Andrea will cause many issues here in Hampton roads.
"We are prepared," said Bonita Billingsley-Harris with Dominion Power. "We closely monitor the weather, and at this point, we're not expecting significant damage to the system from this storm. If the weather pattern changes, our crews are ready to go."
