VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - A sea of red, white and blue covered the lawn of the Eastern Shore Chapel on Laskin Road Sunday.
Each piece of fabric with stars and stripes was woven with the memory of a United States servicemember who made the ultimate sacrifice in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Church members placed more than 6,700 flags in the ground.
The flags will be flying for the next week at the chapel located on 2020 Laskin Road. Church memebers will have a book with the names off the fallen vets, and Father Tom Deppe will bless the book.
