CHEAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - Two people were injured in a shooting at a Chesapeake hotel Saturday night.
Police were called to the Red Roof Inn in the 700 block of Woodlake Drive just before 11 p.m. for reports of an injured person. Officers arrived to find a person shot in the chest. The person was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Later in the evening a second person who had been shot in the incident arrived at Sentara Norfolk General. Police say one of the gunshot victims is still in the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The other victim has been treated and released from the hospital.
Police say that the two victims met with the shooter and some other people and an altercation ensued. During the altercation police say a black male in his 20s wearing a black shirt and jeans shot the two victims.
