CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - An accidental shooting is under investigation at the Naval Support Activity in Chesapeake.
At approximately 3:30 p.m., a Marine with the Marine Corps Force Security Regiment suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the neck. The incident occurred at the Naval Support Activity Northwest Annex in Chesapeake, Va. where the unit was conducting training.
The Marine was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, and was released from the hospital on Saturday.
This incident is currently under investigation by the Naval Criminal Investigative Service.
