CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - A 53-year-old man was killed after his vehicle went off the roadway early Monday morning in Chesapeake.
Kelly O'Sullivan with the Chesapeake Police Department said the crash occurred just before 6 a.m. in the 1000 block of Shillelagh Road. A vehicle driven northbound by Wesley L. Taylor of the 2000 block of Shillelagh Road went off the roadway.
The vehicle struck a ditch and Taylor was ejected, Chesapeake Police spokesman Leo Kosinski told WAVY.com. He was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
There, Taylor was pronounced dead.
The crash remains under investigation at this time. Shillelagh Road was closed for some time in both directions.
