CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - Battalion Chief Mike Thibeault with Chesapeake Fire-Rescue said four adults and a dog have been displaced by a residential fire Thursday.
Chesapeake fire crews responded to a residential fire in the 1100 block of Porter Street in the early afternoon.
Thibeault said a dog was rescued from the fire and no one was injured.
An American Red Cross disaster team also responded to the scene and assisted the four adult residents of the home, according to Rob Shapiro with the ARC.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
A Newport News man is charged for allegedly sexually assaulting a young girl.
