CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - A Chesapeake school was evacuated Thursday due to a burning smell in a hallway.
Around 12:10 p.m., Sparrow Road Intermediate students were evacuated. According to Kellie Goral with Chesapeake Public Schools, the children were outside for a little longer than an hour before returning to the building.
Goral said the school was deemed safe, and the Chesapeake Fire Department is investigating the source of the smell.
