NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Norfolk police are investigating an attempted abduction of a 7-year-old girl.
Police said the incident took place around 3:15 p.m. as school was letting out at Walter H. Taylor Elementary School on West Princess Anne Road.
The girl told police a man in all black tried to grab her as school let out.
The child was found about three blocks away on Hampton Boulevard unharmed.
A person on Westover Avenue, about three blocks away in the other direction, was taken into custody for questioning. After questioning, that person was deemed not a suspect and released.
"It's really scary. I never expected this to happen in my neighborhood, it's safe here. This is very out of the ordinary," said neighbor Molly Golski.
Police are still looking for the suspect. Investigators also have to figure out how he got inside the school.
