CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - Virginia Beach police say both suspects wanted in connection with a robbery at Chartway Credit Union are now behind bars.
On November 8, a man entered the Chartway Credit Union, located at 3841 Holland Road, approached the counter and demanded money from a bank employee. Police say the suspect never displayed a weapon and no one was hurt.
The suspect fled the area on foot and was seen running into a nearby neighborhood. Several witnesses saw the suspect get into the passenger side of an older model, two-door, light-colored hatchback style vehicle driven by a white female with shoulder length, blond, curly hair.
An investigation by a Chesapeake detective into a bank robbery in Chesapeake resulted in the arrest of Stephan T. Clark, 39.
Virginia Beach police say Clark is responsible for the robbery at Chartway Credit Union, as well as a robbery at Wells Fargo at 672 North Battlefield Boulevard on November 19.
Clark was charged with robbery and conspiracy to robbery.
A second suspect, 32-year-old Lauren Lee Stuart, was arrested the morning of December 9. Stuart is believed to be the getaway driver. She is in the Virginia Beach Correctional Facility under no bond.
Norfolk Police are investigating the cause of death for male found unconscious on the beach.
To ease holiday mailing, the Richmond District of the U.S. Postal Service is extending its Saturday window hours.
