No injures in Diamond Springs condo fire

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Multiple people were displaced after a fire at the Diamond Springs Condos on Friday.

Officials with the Virginia Beach Fire Department said crews were called to the 800 block of Zircon Court around 2:15 p.m.

Units on the scene saw heavy smoke coming from the back of a unit that contained four condos. While firefighters attempted to put out the fire in the first unit, another nearby unit began to catch fire.

Officials say that second unit that caught fire was quickly contained and believed to have only affected one condo.

The fire was under control within 30 minutes. Two dogs were able to escape with the help of a neighbor and a police officer.

There were no injuries reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
