VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - A 17-year-old has been arrested after a robbery at a 7-Eleven early Wednesday morning.
The robbery occurred around 3:15 a.m. at the store located at 4756 Baxter Road. Grazia Moyers with the Virginia Beach Police Department said an armed, masked suspect entered the store and demanded money from the clerk.
Moyers said the suspect fled on foot after obtaining an undisclosed amount of money.
Officers in the area spotted a suspicious vehicle near another 7-Eleven on Reon Drive with a possible suspect inside. Moyers said the suspect was determined to be in the one involved in the Baxter Road robbery and was taken into custody.
The suspect, identified only as a 17-year-old Virginia Beach resident, was charged with armed robbery, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and wearing a mask in public.
He remains incarcerated at the Virginia Beach Juvenile Detention Center.
