PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) - Portsmouth Police have caught a fugitive who spent the last six months on the lam.
Jan Clark with the Portsmouth Police Department said Kenneth Anthony Gore, 46, was wanted for an assault in December where a man reported being hit in the head with a handgun. The victim said Gore pointed the gun at him and fired, though the bullet hit the ground.
Wednesday, officers spotted Gore get into a vehicle with another man around 5 p.m. in the 500 block of Madison Street, Clark said. When a traffic stop was conducted, Gore reportedly got out of the vehicle and tried to run.
Gore was captured after a short food pursuit after officers utilized Tasers. Clark said he received minor injuries.
Gore was arrested and has been charged with malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, brandishing a firearm and reckless handling of a firearm.
A man is facing attempted abduction charges after police said he tried to grab two juvenile girls and exposed himself.
