SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - A 21-year-old man is charged with animal cruelty after officers in Suffolk say they found dead and emaciated pit bulls at his home in November.
Debbie George with the City of Suffolk told WAVY.com Laquan Williams is charged with five counts of animal cruelty, all misdemeanors. On Nov. 26, officers responded to a report of animal cruelty in the 100 block of South Sixth Street. there, they found a dead female pit bull and three emaciated pit bulls.
After an investigation, officers discovered Williams owned the dogs. The person living in the home reportedly told Williams she was moving out and needed to care for the dogs.
George said the dogs had no food or water and did not have any adequate space.
Williams is being held at the Western Tidewater Regional Jail.
