NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Norfolk pastor David Smith will plead guilty to all 10 counts of possessing child pornography, according to his lawyer.
Smith, a former pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, was arrested in March.
His attorney told 10 On Your Side Smith is waiting for forgiveness from the church community.
"[Our] plan is to enter pleas of guilty and ask for mercy. We're going to present the picture as he is with his strengths and weaknesses, with his addiction, that he has which plagues many people in many forms," attorney Howard Copeland said Tuesday.
Smith is due back in court in July.
Charges have been made in a domestic abuse investigation involving a 74-year-old woman in Elizabeth City.
