VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Virginia Beach Police have arrested a man after officers say he assaulted a woman along Gordon Walk Sunday morning.
Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Gordon Walk for a report of a stabbing around 10:30 a.m. When they arrived, they found a male suspect suffering from stab wounds, Grazia Moyers with the Virginia Beach Police Department said.
The suspect, identified as Arthur Kelvin Waller, 31, of Virginia Beach was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Moyers said a verbal altercation ensued between Waller and the victim and the suspect was attempting to prevent the victim from leaving the home. Waller assaulted the victim and put her in a ‘strangulation hold,' according to detectives.
The victim managed to leave the home and suffered minor injuries. Moyers did not say how Waller was stabbed.
Waller was arrested and charged with domestic assault and strangulation.
A routine traffic stop in Chesapeake resulted in a three-city pursuit Friday morning.
