HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) - Hampton Police are investigating a second homicide early Friday morning, and they have now identified the victim.
Sgt. Jason Price with the Hampton Police Division said the incident occurred in the 900 block of North King Street just before 3 a.m.
Officers were dispatched to the area for a call of shots fired in the area. When they arrived, they found a male victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. He has been identified as 21-year-old Jaquan Marquise Brown.
Prior to being shot, investigators said Brown was involved in an attempted robbery of a woman who was walking on North King Street. Immediately after the attempted robbery, police said Brown was shot by an unknown suspect.
The shooting comes just hours after one person was killed and three others injured in another shooting.
No suspects have been arrested.
