PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) - Police have arrested a total of four people after a man robbed a Portsmouth grocery store Monday morning.
The robbery occurred around 8:45 a.m. at the Food Lion located at 3539 Airline Blvd. Jan Clark with the Portsmouth Police Department said the suspect approached the Customer Service counter, implied he had a weapon and demanded money.
The suspect was able to get away with an undisclosed amount of money. Clark said detectives believe the suspect got into a parked vehicle nearby.
Detectives located the vehicle just after the robbery, Clark said. The man believed to be the driver, Keith Sharrod Taylor, 23, of Portsmouth was arrested and charged with robbery, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and conspiracy to commit robbery.
Additionally, the owner of the vehicle, Ebony Gant, 23, of Portsmouth was arrested and charged with tampering with evidence. Clark said detectives found evidence linking the pair to the robbery was recovered at Gant's home.
Tuesday night, two others were arrested. Sean Deangelo Ferguson, 26, and Raquel West, 25, both of Portsmouth have been charged with robbery, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and conspiracy to commit robbery.
Clark said additional charges are likely.
