VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - A trial is set to begin next month in the death of a 24-year-old Virginia Beach man, fatally shot following a parking lot dispute at the Oceanfront.
Divon Tyrek Beckwith-Hall was pronounced dead at a parking lot on 19th Street and Pacific Avenue during the early morning hours of Jan. 13, 2013.
The suspects in his murder, 33-year-old Alonzo Eddie Phelps and 26-year-old Damian Lamar Dennis were arrested shortly following the incident.
Dennis was found guilty for discharging a firearm in public, and was placed three years probation and ordered to pay a $150 fine.
Phelps waived his right to a preliminary trial on second degree murder charges and use of a firearm. He will go before a grand jury and trial May 29.
