GLOUCESTER, Va. - Gloucester County Sheriff's Office is looking for a man who attempted to rob an ATM customer in the 6700 block of George Washington Memorial Highway on Saturday.
The victim reports they pulled up to the ATM at Chesapeake Bank about 7:20 p.m. Saturday and a black male came around the ATM machine and brandished a firearm. The suspect made several demands of the victim and then backed away from the car and told them to leave.
The investigation revealed the suspect approached the bank from the direction of Quinn Motors about 15 minutes before the attempted robbery. After the robbery attempt, he departed the area in the same direction.
The suspect is described as a black male, wearing a dark-colored winter coat with a hood, a partial face mask and displayed a handgun.
The Gloucester Co. Sheriff's Office asks anyone with information regarding this incident to please contact their office at 804-693-3890. Tipsters can remain anonymous by contacting the Crimeline at 888-LOCK-U-UP. Information leading to the identification and arrest of the suspect could received an award of up to $1000.
