VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Four men have been arrested in connection with assault and larceny, following a violent and hectic evening at the Oceanfront in Virginia Beach.
According to Grazia Moyers, officers responded to the 300 block of 21st Street just before 11 p.m. Saturday for a man with a gun. That man told officers he was assaulted by four men while trying to cross the street.
The victim told police he displayed a gun when the four men approached him, but the gun broke into two pieces when it fell out of his hands. The suspects took the two pieces and fled in two different vehicles. The victim was able to describe the suspects to police, who were quickly arrested after getting stuck in traffic on Pacific Avenue.
The following men were taken into custody without incident:
- Kendall Jerad Jones, 19 of Chesapeake: charged with simple assault and larceny of a firearm
- Daqwan Donald Johnson, 21 of Norfolk: charged with simple assault and larceny of a firearm
- Keone Devon Perry, 19 of Chesapeake: charged with simple assault and larceny of a firearm
- Kevon Detroin Perry, 18 of Chesapeake: charged with simple assault
Police received 325 911 calls this weekend for emergency calls to the Oceanfront, including three shootings, two stabbings and four robberies.
