ACCOMACK COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) - Two people charged with arson on Virginia's Eastern Shore are scheduled to appear in court in June.
Preliminary hearings for 38-year-old Charles R. Smith III and 40-year-old Tonya Bundick had been set for May 6. The Salisbury Daily Times reports that the proceedings were rescheduled for June 17 after defense attorneys requested psychological evaluations.
Bundick's attorney also is appealing an Accomack County General District Court judge's denial of bond for her.
Police arrested Bundick and Smith on April 2. Each is charged with one count of arson and one count of conspiracy to commit arson. The charges stem from an April 2 fire at an abandoned structure in Melfa.
