HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) - Members of the 27th Fighter Squadron will return to Langley Air Force Base Wednesday after a six-month deployment in Japan.
The 27th Fighter Squadron was assigned to the U.S. Pacific Command as part of the Theater Security Package rotation.
Air Force officials said the deployments “provide stability and security while allowing units to integrate with U.S. and Japanese forces.”
The 27th Fighter Squadron is also known as the “Fightin’ Eagles” and is the oldest active fighter squadron in the Air Force.
Camden County Sheriff Tony Perry said that during the last two weeks, incidents of breaking and entering and home or vehicle larceny have increased in two areas of the county.
