SAN DIEGO (NBC/VNR) - What could be more adorable than children playing in the snow? Giant pandas playing in the snow!
It took 100 blocks of ice to create the 30,000 pounds of snow that was blown into San Diego Zoo's two main panda exhibits Thursday.
As you can see in this video, the pandas -- including 1-year-old cub Xiao Liwu -- all enjoyed their special snow day.
The snow day was part of a special gift from donors to the zoo.
The giant pandas are on a research loan from the People's Republic of China.
Zoo officials say enrichment, such as the snow, is important for the pandas because it keeps the animals stimulated and active.
