NEW YORK (AP) — New York Giants were cheering and salsa dancing as Big Blue took an early lead against the New England Patriots in their Super Bowl rematch.
At Stout, a packed sports bar in midtown Manhattan Sunday, 47-year-old Samuel Person expressed confidence that the Giants "were going to dominate the rest of the game."
But by the middle of the third quarter, the Giants were down 17-12.
The last time the teams met in the big game in 2008, the Giants upset the undefeated Patriots in one of the most exciting Super Bowls ever. Two days later, massive crowds cheered the Giants as they paraded up Broadway's Canyon of Heroes
New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg wouldn't say how the city would celebrate if the Giants win.
