(AP) - The National Weather Service has issued flood watches and warnings for most of North Carolina as the remnants of Hurricane Ida bring heavy rain across the state.
Meteorologists say rainfall amounts will reach up to five inches in North Carolina by Thursday morning.

Rain is expected to continue in the South Wednesday as the weather system continues tacking northeastward up the East Coast.
