(CNN) - Your favorite NBA player's jersey may soon come with advertising.

The New York Times reports several NBA owners and executives recently met to discuss selling ads on game uniforms.

Most international soccer clubs already feature prominent corporate logos on jerseys, and that's one of the models under consideration.

A top NBA executive said the proposal is far from a done deal, and won't happen without the approval of team owners.
