CANBERRA, Australia (CNN/NETWORK TEN) - Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines and just keep revving them.

Auto enthusiasts in Australia set a world record for the most number of simultaneous "burnouts."

Sixty-nine cars lined up side by side at the Summernats Car festival in Canberra.

Drivers had to keep their wheels spinning and tires burning for 30 seconds to set the new record.

The successful record attempt caused a few minor spot fires in the scorching Australian summer heat.
