HAMPTON ROADS, Va. (WAVY) - Strong winds caused damage across Hampton Roads as a severe storm system moved through during the overnight hours Thursday.

Several areas reported trees down, some of which landed on homes. Battalion Chief J. Douglas Carper, II with the Newport News Fire Department told WAVY.com a tree fell on a home in the 200 block of Daphia Circle, injuring one person. Their condition is unknown at this time, but they were transported to a local hospital.
