HAMPTON ROADS, Va. (WAVY) - Due to pending storm conditions, some cities have postponed their trash and recycling services.
There will be no trash or recycling service in Virginia Beach on Friday, September 3. Trash and recycling regularly scheduled for Friday will be collected on Saturday.
The City of Portsmouth urges residents and businesses to wait until after 6 a.m. Friday morning to place trash at the curb for collection. Trash collection will be on a normal schedule and begin at 7 a.m. on Friday, September 3.
Based on current information regarding Hurricane Earl, the city of Suffolk will not change for refuse pick-up on Friday, September 3. Residents with regular Friday pick-ups are advised to put out their trash as usual.
Town of Duck Residential trash collection scheduled for Friday, September 3 has been cancelled. Residential trash will be picked up on the next regularly scheduled collection day, which is Monday, September 6. Commercial trash pick-up is not affected. Town of Kill Devil Hills Residential solid waste will not be collected on Friday.
There will be no trash collection in Nags Head on Friday. The regular collection schedule will resume Saturday, weather permitting.
